A school bus driver was one of three people arrested in Jones County on charges related to meth.

Daniel Anderson, 72, was charged with trafficking a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm. According to officials, Anderson worked as a Jones County School District bus driver.

Narcotics agents with the Jones County Sheriff’s Department were led to Anderson after initially executing a search warrant at a home in Calhoun, where they arrested Shaun Farris, 47, for possession of meth.

The second search warrant, in which Anderson was arrested, occurred at a Johnson community home. There, law enforcement found Anderson and Robert Deshazo, 59. Deshazo fled on foot but was captured in the woods and found in possession of meth.

Agents contacted the school district and informed it of Anderson’s arrest and where the school bus he drove was located. He has since been relieved of his duties as a district employee.
