As part of Empower Mississippi’s Solutions Summit in December, Kyle Mann, editor-in-chief of the popular satirical news site The Babylon Bee, will be the keynote speaker.

Mann rose to prominence as a comedy writer after joining The Babylon Bee in 2018, a publication that has become one of the most widely read satire outlets in the world. The organization led by Mann has also developed a provocative, anti-progressive reputation that has led to push back from other institutions, such as being temporarily banned from Twitter, now X, in 2022.

The annual Empower Solutions Summit brings together state leaders, policy experts, and everyday citizens for a solutions-centered discussion on how to address Mississippi’s most significant challenges. Joining Mann as speakers are Lieutenant Government Delbert Hosemann and House Speaker Jason White.

Those attending the summit will be able hear panel discussions on topics range from workforce development to criminal justice and education. The Summit will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Sheraton Refuge Hotel & Conference Center in Flowood.
