A third fatality was reported Wednesday morning after a line of severe storms rolled across Mississippi Tuesday afternoon and evening.
According to Mississippi Emergency Management Agency officials, 71-year-old Thomas Lacey, Jr. was electrocuted to death by a downed power line in the Roses Bluff Subdivision in Madison County, while 63-year-old Paul Hardin lost his live when traveling on the Natchez Trace Parkway.
Governor Tate Reeves confirmed the third fatality Wednesday, though further details are not available from officials yet.

Six injuries have also been reported, with two sustained in Madison County and four in Wayne County.
Preliminary damage assessments by MEMA crews are also underway, with damages in five counties – Madison, Perry, Rankin, Warren, and Wayne – reported so far. Damage includes downed trees, home damage, and power outages due to the storms.
The latest report says 6,500 Mississippi homes are without power, down from a peak of nearly 40,000 Tuesday night.
