If you’re looking to expand your bank account, today might just be your lucky day.
The Mississippi Lottery Corporation announced that the Mississippi Match 5 jackpot has reached $1 million for the first time since the game’s launch in April 2021. After there were no grand-prize winners during Friday’s drawing, the jackpot climbed from $925,000 to exactly $1 million ahead of Saturday night’s drawing.
“This is an exciting moment not just for our players, but for the Mississippi Lottery as a whole,” MLC President Jeff Hewitt said. “Hitting the million-dollar threshold is a first for Match 5, and it shows just how much enthusiasm players have for this game.”

Saturday’s drawing, which is set for 9:30 p.m., will be the 49th since the Mississippi Match 5 jackpot was last won on April 12 for $141,000. The largest Match 5 jackpot before the weekend surge was $905,168 on Feb. 7, 2023. The winning ticket for that one was purchased in West Point.
According to the lottery’s website, Mississippi Match 5 is a game that increases every night until there’s a winner. It then resets to $50,000. Tickets are $2, and an optional $1 multiplier feature is available to boost non-jackpot prizes.
