A man is in custody after cops in Picayune found several grams of crack cocaine in his underpants during a traffic stop.

Justin Stokes, 23, was originally pulled over after rolling through a stop sign on Highway 11 near Mitchell Street. Upon making contact with Stokes, officers with the Picayune Police Department discovered he had four outstanding warrants for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Probable cause was established, according to an arrest announcement, and a search of the black Toyota Camry driven by Stokes resulted in 10 grams of marijuana being found. However, upon closer look at the suspect’s person, detectives decided to initiate a strip search and that’s when they “located almost five grams of crack cocaine located in the rear of his underwear.”

Stokes was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, and disregarding a traffic control device. He will also have to appear in court on the previous warrants.

Stokes is being held at the Pearl River County Jail.
