Five people were injured by gunfire during a late Saturday night bonfire in Clay County.
Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott said the shooting happened on Cousins Road in the western portion of the county. His department spent the rest of the night and all of Sunday investigating, but as of now, no arrests have been announced.
Deputies are reviewing images and have collected some evidence, including shell casings to determine how many shooters were involved and any possible motives.
Of the victims, three were transported to North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point, one to an undisclosed hospital in Tupelo, and the other airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Their conditions have not been released.
