Gaming meets technology as the Mississippi Lottery Corporation announced the launch of its first-ever mobile app.

While residents will not be able to gamble via the app, it allows them immediate access to scan lottery tickets to see if they’re winners and streamlines the process of participating in the MLC’s second-chance promotions, which let players enter non-winning tickets for another chance at prizes.

Users are also able to use the app to check current jackpots and winning numbers, find nearby lottery retailers, and view detailed game information and odds for scratch-off and draw games. The app went live on the Apple App Store and Google Play on Wednesday morning.

“The launch of our first official app represents an exciting step forward for the Mississippi Lottery,” MLC President Jeff Hewitt said. “Our players have asked for a simple, secure way to check tickets, view jackpots, and find information on the go, and this app delivers exactly that.”

The MLC was established in 2018 after the state legislature approved a lottery system and sales. More information can be found here.
