A Memphis man wanted on multiple charges was arrested across the state line in Mississippi after an hours-long standoff with law enforcement.

Tra-Shawn Robinson, 26, was arrested in Grenada on Wednesday in a joint operation by U.S. marshals and local law enforcement officers. He was wanted by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (TN) for aggravated assault, domestic assault with bodily harm, aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, and vandalism.

Marshals determined Robinson was inside a home on West Monroe Street. They surrounded the house with assistance from the Grenada County Sheriff’s Office, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Winona Police Department, and Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.

According to law enforcement, Robinson refused to come outside and surrender for several hours. Marshals then entered the home and found him lying in a bathtub with a “machete-style knife” and numerous cuts on his arms. Robinson was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for medical care.

Warrants were first issued for Robinson’s arrest on Oct. 24 with the Shelby Couty Sheriff’s Office later asking for assistance from the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force. Marshals tracked Robinson to Grenada, where they requested additional aid from the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force of Northern Mississippi to ensure his capture.
