Bo Wallace is coming back to Mississippi. The former Ole Miss star was announced Monday as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Southwest Mississippi Community College.

He joins the staff of Les George, who took over the SMCC program in November 2024 and went 3-6 in his first season.

Wallace, who played for Ole Miss from 2012-14 after an NJCAA championship-winning season at East Mississippi Community College, got into coaching after a short go at the professional ranks that included a tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs.

His clipboard days started with him serving as an assistant at Episcopal School of Dallas in 2015 before being hired as the quarterbacks coach at Marshall County High School in his home state of Tennessee.

In 2017, Wallace returned to his alma mater of EMCC as the quarterbacks coach before going back to the prep level with stints at Giles County High School and Fayette-Ware, both in Tennessee. He bounced back up to the JUCO level as Coahoma Community College’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2020 before accepting the same roles at Pearl River Community College for the 2021 season. The following year, he worked as the quarterbacks coach at Holmes Community College.

In 2023, Wallace was hired as the offensive coordinator at the University School of Jackson in Tennessee. He helped the Bruins to a 29-9 record across three seasons, including three TSSAA playoff appearances and a run to the state title game in 2025.

Wallace compiled over 10,000 yards of offense while at Ole Miss and helped the program break a two-season bowl drought in 2012 with an appearance and win over Pitt in the BBVA Compass Bowl. He followed it up with a junior season that saw the Rebels beat Georgia Tech in the Music City Bowl. As a senior, Wallace and Ole Miss lost to TCU in the Peach Bowl but finished No. 10 in the final AP and Coaches polls.
