Century Club Charities, the host organization of the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, made its annual donation to Friends of Children’s Hospital on Tuesday.

$1 million from the PGA tournament’s 2025 proceeds is heading to support the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s pediatric healthcare mission, which includes the state’s only children’s hospital. Century Club Charities officials also announced $730,000 being gifted to other charities across the state.

“We are deeply grateful to our title sponsor, Wayne-Sanderson Farms, along with our partners at the PGA Tour, the Country Club of Jackson, and the many members, staff, and volunteers who made this tournament possible,” said JR Woodall, president of Century Cub Charities. “Their commitment and generosity have created a lasting legacy of support for Mississippi charities, especially Children’s of Mississippi. The impact of this partnership will continue to be felt by countless families for years to come.”

Since Sanderson Farms, now Wayne-Sanderson Farms, became title sponsor of Mississippi’s only PGA event in 2013, the tournament and Century Club Charities have contributed nearly $20 million to Friends of Children’s Hospital and other Mississippi charities. The total charitable amount spread across the state is more than $28 million.

Children’s of Mississippi, which includes the hospital in Jackson and clinics statewide, provides care for approximately 200,000 youth each year. Mary Clift Abdalla, board chair of Friends of Children’s Hospital, said without them, life-changing care wouldn’t be nearly as possible.

“Century Club Charities and Wayne-Sanderson Farms have provided unwavering support to Children’s of Mississippi through remarkable generosity,” she said. “Their commitment has been instrumental in helping us deliver compassionate, life-changing care to Mississippi’s sick and injured children. On behalf of our patients and their families, we extend heartfelt thanks for their enduring partnership and dedication to building a healthier future for our state’s children.”

While Wayne-Sanderson Farms is rolling off as the title sponsor of the PGA tournament, event director Steve Jent and other organizers are working to find a new sponsor to keep it going, although a 2026 edition seems unlikely. Jent commended Wayne-Sanderson Farms for its support not only directly of the tournament but also of the charitable side, as well, since coming on as a sponsor 13 years ago.

“While 2025 marked the final year of the Sanderson Farms Championship, we are incredibly grateful to Wayne-Sanderson Farms for their steadfast support and generosity,” he said. “We’re proud of the impact this event has made and thankful to everyone who helped make it so special. Today’s announcement reflects the spirit of giving of our many sponsors, partners, and volunteers who have defined this tournament for 58 years.”
