A Texas truck driver is behind bars for allegedly trafficking drugs along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

On Wednesday, deputies with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office took Jesus Roberto Carrizales into custody following a traffic stop on Interstate 10 East in Gulfport. Sheriff Matt Haley confirmed that his office’s criminal interdiction unit conducted the stop on a semi-truck for undisclosed traffic violations.

Deputies at the scene reportedly discovered around 19 kilograms of cocaine and a pair of firearms. The confiscated cocaine is estimated to have a street value of $1 million.

Carrizales was arrested and transported to the Harrison County Jail, where he is being held on a $1 million bond. The Harrison County Narcotics Task Force and Drug Enforcement Administration assisted the sheriff’s office in this investigation.
