Easthaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven is gearing up for it’s Night to Shine event – a prom-like setting for people with special needs – in February but are looking for volunteers to sign up as soon as possible.
Night to Shine is a global get-together sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation with hundreds of churches worldwide participating each year. Every event is open to individuals with special needs ages 14 and older and is free of charge. This year’s Night to Shine is set for Feb. 13.
According to Easthaven Baptist Church, its version of Night to Shine will include hair and makeup, a red-carpet entrance, limousine rides, dancing, music, and a crowning ceremony. To make it as fun a night as possible for those with special needs, volunteer slots must be filled by Dec. 31.
