The college baseball season is just over one month away, with schedules recently announced for Mississippi’s Division I teams. One of those teams, Southern Miss, is hitting the road on the second weekend of play to compete in the seventh annual Round Rock Classic against other teams expected to be postseason contenders in 2026.
On Tuesday, the Round Rock Classic announced the schedule for the round-robin style tournament that will be held at Dell Diamond, the home stadium of Texas Rangers AAA affiliate Round Rock Express. Teams participating are Southern Miss, Oregon State, Purdue, and Baylor.
“We are excited to host year seven of the Round Rock Classic here at Dell Diamond,” said Nathan Woolridge of Peak Events, the event management firm putting on the tournament. “This year’s lineup includes four great teams and fan bases, and we are looking forward to another fun weekend of baseball at one of the top ballparks in the country. We’d like to thank the Round Rock Express and the city of Round Rock for their continued support in making this one of the top early-season destinations in college baseball.”
The schedule for the 2026 Round Rock Classic includes:
- Friday, Feb. 20: Purdue vs. Southern Miss at 2 p.m.; Oregon State vs. Baylor at 6 p.m.
- Saturday, Feb. 21: Baylor vs. Purdue at 1 p.m.; Southern Miss vs. Oregon State at 5 p.m.
- Sunday, Feb. 22: Purdue vs. Oregon State at 11 a.m.; Southern Miss vs. Baylor at 3 p.m.
Half of the field made it to the NCAA Tournament in 2025, with Southern Miss falling in its own regional and Oregon State advancing all the way to the College World Series. Both Purdue and Baylor finished with winning records but failed to be selected for the NCAA Tournament.
Tickets for the Round Rock Classic are available for purchase here. Both per-day and weekend options are available. Fans traveling to Round Rock are also being offered discounted hotel rates. For those who can’t make it, all six games will be broadcast exclusively on D1Baseball.com.
