Oxford’s mTrade Park has long been viewed by many as the premier youth athletic facility of Mississippi, but now, it’s being viewed on the national level as the best in the entire U.S.

The United States Specialty Sports Association presented mTrade Park with its 2025 Complex of the Year Award, solidifying the facility’s dedication to youth baseball and other sports. Brad Freeman, director of mTrade Park, accepted the award at the 2025 USSSA National Convention in Kansas City.

“To win an award on the national level is something the park has never experienced before. To get some love from the nation, if you will, it just kind of speaks to how good the facility is and how fortunate we are to have this type of facility in Oxford, Mississippi,” Freeman said.

The Oxford Board of Aldermen commended mTrade Park for the award during its Tuesday night meeting.

“Congrats to mTrade Park for winning the 2025 USSSA Complex of the Year Award!” a statement issued after the meeting reads. “This is a great honor for our community! Thank you to all of you and all of our employees at mTrade Park and the Oxford Park Commission for making mTrade as special as it is! We are truly blessed to have a facility like this in Oxford!”

The USSSA is a major governing body for youth sports and partners with mTrade Park and over 1,000 facilities across the country for baseball. Others to receive the honor in recent years include the West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex in Jackson, Tenn., and Publix Sports Park in Panama City Beach, Fla.

Freeman said what makes the honor so special is that teams, coaches, and parents from outside of Oxford have a say in where their favorite place to play is as part of the USSSA awards process. mTrade Park has 14 lit diamonds, 5 Olympic-size soccer fields, and an indoor practice facility.

“It was awarded based upon largely feedback from others, from out-of-towners,” he explained. “Based upon our team attendance, coaches, and player feedback coupled with how nice our facility is, we won the award. It’s a great honor.”
