First responders went on a successful rescue mission in northeast Mississippi on Monday morning.
According to the Fulton Fire Department, authorities were notified around 8 a.m. that a hunter had fallen into the Tombigbee River. Emergency response crews arrived at the scene and deployed a rescue truck, a rescue boat, and a UTV to rescue the unidentified individual.
Medical personnel were on standby on location to attend to the immediate needs of the hunter and first responders who went into the water on the rescue mission, due to the extremely cold temperatures both in and out of the river. Within an hour of the initial call, the hunter was placed in an ambulance, where medical crews began rehabilitation work. According to officials, the hunter is expected to make a full recovery.
