Residents in north Mississippi will not be able to update their driver’s licenses in-person on Tuesday due to the lingering effects of Winter Storm Fern.

According to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, driver service bureaus in the northern region of the state will be closed. These locations include bureaus in Batesville, Cleveland, Corinth, Greenville, Greenwood, Grenada, Nesbit, New Albany, Olive Branch, Oxford, and Tupelo.

“We are taking precautions to protect our employees while continuing essential services, and keeping everyone safe as our top priority,” Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell said. “I would also like to thank all first responders and frontline workers for their service during this winter weather storm.”

On Monday, bureaus in central Mississippi joined their northern peers in suspending operations, while outlets in the southern portion of the state had a delayed opening. All of these sites will return to regularly-scheduled operations on Tuesday.
