A Mississippi hospital is one of the best in America, per a new report from Healthgrades.
The popular website used by Americans when searching for a doctor or hospital recently released its “Best 250 Hospitals for 2026” list. The inclusion of Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi places the Oxford hospital among the top 5% in the country for clinical excellence.
It is also the second year in a row Baptist North Mississippi has received the honor. In the 2025 and 2026 versions of the list, it was the only hospital in Mississippi included.
“This honor reflects the dedication, skill, and compassion of our physicians, nurses, and staff who deliver exceptional care every day,” a statement from Baptist North Mississippi reads. “To our patients and community, thank you for trusting us with your care!”
Through its analysis, Healthgrades evaluated approximately 4,500 hospitals on 31 conditions and procedures, including heart attacks and total knee replacement, and their clinical outcomes from 2023-25. Hospitals could not opt in or submit their own data.
As part of Healthgrades’ annual honors, Baptist North Mississippi was also included on the lists of “Best 100 Hospitals for Critical Care” and “Pulmonary Care Excellence.”
Baptist North Mississippi has 217 beds and offers various services, including cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, home care hospice, and a 24-hour emergency department. In 2017, the hospital moved into a new 600,000-square-foot facility to be able to offer expanded services such as a larger emergency department, larger patient rooms, and advanced technology.
