All three of Mississippi’s major college baseball teams are ranked for the first time this year. Per the latest poll from D1Baseball, Ole Miss made its top 25 debut two weekends into the 2026 campaign, while Southern Miss took a significant leap forward in the rankings, and Mississippi State stayed put at No. 4.

Ole Miss (8-0) came in at No. 25 in the most recent rankings after completing a pair of midweek games and a weekend series unblemished on the win-loss column. The Rebels benefited from a Brayden Randle sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to walk off Arkansas State on Tuesday before run-ruling Jackson State on Wednesday. Mike Bianco’s club then swept Missouri State, though the team was threatened in the third game.

Next up for Ole Miss is a home midweek contest versus Southeastern Missouri State on Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Rebels will then pack up and head out to the Lone Star State to face Baylor, Ohio State, and Coastal Carolina in the Bruce Bolt Classic this weekend.

Meanwhile, Southern Miss (6-1) jumped a whopping eight spots in the poll after squeaking past Southeastern Louisiana in a midweek showdown leading up to an eye-popping showing in the Round Rock Classic. In the round-robin style series in Texas, the Golden Eagles were a shining star, defeating Purdue, then-No. 11 Oregon State, and Baylor, to be named the Round Rock Classic’s champion.

Next up for Southern Miss is a home midweek battle against Alabama on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The Golden Eagles will then head one state over to play a tough Louisiana Tech club over the weekend.

Mississippi State (8-0) cruised past Troy and Alcorn State in its debut midweek outings and kept the momentum rolling over the weekend in a clean sweep of Delaware, allowing the Bulldogs to keep their spot in the rankings locked up. Brian O’Connor’s club outscored opponents 58-12 in the five-game stretch.

Next up for Mississippi State is a home midweek outing versus Austin Peay on Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Bulldogs will head to Texas to compete in the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series, where they will face Arizona State, Virginia Tech, and top-ranked UCLA.
