The Belhaven men’s basketball team is heading to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the first time in program history.

The Blazers will find out who their first-round opponent is on Monday at noon during a selection show that can be watched here.

Belhaven (16-12) made history when it captured its first Collegiate Conference of the South championship on Sunday, beating LaGrange 92-73 in the final contest of the conference tournament. The win landed Belhaven the conference’s lone automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Junior guard CJ Minton led the way with 18 points, including four 3-pointers and a perfect 6-for-6 clip from the free-throw line. Minton – who was subsequently named CCS Tournament MVP – averaged 21.3 points while shooting 57.1% from beyond the arc during the Blazers’ three conference tournament games.

Both Dan Robinson and Neal Terry were named to the All-Tournament team. Robinson had 17 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists against LaGrange, bringing his tournament averages to 17.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 6 assists per game. Terry was a force in the paint against LaGrange with 14 points, nine rebounds, and five blocks. Across the tournament, he averaged 12 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 4.7 blocks.

The redemption run for Belhaven comes after the team was two wins away from making the NCAA Tournament a year ago, falling to eventual conference champion Huntingdon in the 2025 CCS Tournament.
