One person is dead and two are injured following a pair of what police believe were gang-related shootings in Clarksdale.
The Clarksdale Police Department reported that the first round of gunfire broke out between two rival gangs on Tuesday afternoon on Garfield Street, where one person was struck. The individual was rushed to a local hospital and succumbed to injuries sustained at the crime scene.
Hours later on the same day, the same gangs allegedly began shooting at one another along Cherry Street, leaving two people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Law enforcement officials did not identify the gangs reportedly involved in the altercations and have not released identities of the victims. No arrests have been announced at this time.
