Four people were airlifted to medical care following a two-vehicle crash involving a charter bus in the Mississippi Pine Belt.
The incident happened along U.S. Highway 49 just north of Mount Olive in Covington County on Tuesday afternoon, first reported by WDAM-TV. Troopers with the Mississippi Highway Patrol reported to the scene and noted that the bus had collided with a Pontiac sedan.
While the occupants of the charter bus were not hurt, four passengers in the Pontiac suffered injuries. All four, two of whom were children and the other two were elderly adults, were airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
The children are said to be “seriously injured,” while the elderly adults are reported by law enforcement to be on the path to recovery.
