A Mississippi woman accused of setting fire to her ex-boyfriend’s home could face decades in prison.
A Lafayette County grand jury found Batesville native Christina Willis guilty of first-degree arson in connection with a November 2024 blaze that broke out at the home of her ex-boyfriend, Bobby Bryant. The incident is reported to have occurred at his residence on CR 333.
If convicted, Willis faces up to 20 years behind bars, which could be the case, given she faces state and federal charges of attempted murder, along with conspiracy, for allegedly placing an explosive device in Bryant’s vehicle last June.
Willis and alleged cohort Mark Montgomery are accused of working together to build an explosive device, place it in Bryant’s car, and detonate it while he was operating the automobile. Willis pleaded guilty to state charges in this case last October and has not yet been sentenced.
