One person is dead and several are injured after a rollover crash in Quitman County.
The Coahoma County Fire Department said Friday morning it was asked Thursday just after 4 p.m. to assist in the crash response as “multiple patients with life-threatening injuries” were found on Highway 6.
Despite paramedics attempting life-saving measures, one person was pronounced dead on the scene by the Quitman County coroner. At least two others were airlifted to the hospital for treatment.
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the family and loved ones affected by this tragic incident,” Coahoma County Fire Department said in a statement.
The names of the deceased and those injured have not been released.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol has taken over the case and is working to find out the cause of the crash.
