Mississippi State is altering its weekend baseball series with expected inclement weather on the horizon.

The No. 15 Bulldogs are moving Friday’s game versus reigning national champion LSU to 3 p.m. The matchup was originally scheduled to get underway at 6 p.m. The move was made due to the National Weather Service forecasting thunderstorms on Friday night.

Mississippi State officials report that Diamond Dawg Alley, a pre-game fan experience located adjacent to the right-field entrance of Dudy Noble Field, will open at 1:30 p.m. ahead of game one. As for the planned America250 celebration, festivities will take place pregame, and the fireworks show planned for Friday will now occur after Saturday’s matchup.

No other game of the series has been rescheduled, though rain is expected to fall all weekend in Starkville. On the diamond, Brian O’Connor’s Bulldogs (31-10, 10-8 SEC) will look to build on the momentum of last week’s sweep of South Carolina by taking it to a fractured Tiger club.

Off the diamond, a lot will be happening in Starkville, with Super Bulldog Weekend occurring. Weather permitting, the festivities will be headlined by the Starkville Derby — the world’s largest wiener dog race. No schedule alterations for Super Bulldog Weekend activities have been announced at this time.
