26 injuries have been now reported in Mississippi after at least seven tornadoes trekked through the state on May 6 and 7.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency provided the injury update Sunday afternoon, noting 22 of the injuries happened in Lincoln County. Three others were reported in Lamar County and one in Franklin County.

“The Mississippi State Department of Health will be meeting with hospitals tomorrow (Monday) to help assess the status of those injured,” MEMA officials said.

No deaths have been reported.

As for damage, assessments have concluded in Lamar, Lawrence, and Franklin counties and will take place Monday in Lincoln County, where eight roads remained impassable due to debris as of Sunday afternoon. Gov. Tate Reeves said Saturday that over 100 homes, businesses, and public buildings statewide were impacted by the tornadoes, though “numbers will change as assessments continue.”

Approximately 1,460 remained without power as of Sunday afternoon – down from a statewide high of more than 20,000. Nearly half of the outages were being reported in Lincoln County with Clarke, Newton, and Franklin counties each reporting 130 or more outages.

“The state of Mississippi is in this for the long haul. Together, we will recover and rebuild,” Reeves said.
