Custom storage systems producer Lockers Manufacturing is expanding its operations in Panola County with a nearly $10 million investment.
The Mississippi Development Authority announced Monday that the company is putting $9.7 million into its existing Batesville plant and is looking to create 25 new jobs. The company established its north Mississippi footprint in 2021 when it purchased a 62,000-square-foot facility in Batesville’s original industrial zone.
“Mississippi competes by prioritizing speed so companies go from investing to making money faster, and Lockers Manufacturing is once again investing with confidence and expanding in a state that can keep up with that ambition,” Mississippi Development Authority Executive Director Bill Cork said. “That’s what real economic development looks like — not promises, but execution. We clear the path and get out of the way so projects like this move forward without friction.”
Lockers Manufacturing, which boasts its crucial role in building “high-quality” metal lockers since 2014, broadened its product offerings in 2024 to include wood, phenolic, plastic laminate, and high-density polyethylene lockers. The company provides fully customizable designs across a wide range of materials and technologies, allowing it to meet diverse customer needs.
With the expansion in Batesville, Lockers Manufacturing is establishing two additional divisions, expanding upon its current wood and plastic locker production. To support its growth, the company is purchasing an existing building and adding new production capabilities.
“Lockers Manufacturing is well positioned to continue to make customized best-in-class locker products in the USA for decades to come! As an industry titan, our vision and our mission are built to last, just like our products,” Lockers Manufacturing CEO Keith Dunham said.
The Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive program. The city of Batesville, Panola County, and AccelerateMS also are also assisting with the project.
