A man and woman are facing multiple charges in connection with the death of an infant.
Law enforcement in Magee reported that Desserae Vaughn and Joseph Lexia were charged with child abuse, child neglect, deprivation of substantial necessities, possession of controlled substances, possession of paraphernalia, and three counts of animal cruelty.
While details remain slim, police confirmed that the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office is conducting a homicide investigation into the infant’s death.
Officials did not release the name or exact age of the deceased.
