Ole Miss track and field star Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan is the first athlete to ever win four consecutive SEC men’s hammer titles.

Robinson-O’Hagan opened day one of the 2026 SEC Outdoor Championships on Thursday behind the 8-ball, staring a possible foul-out in the face on his third attempt with two prior scratches. But the now 12-time SEC champion found the sector legally on his third attempt at 70.79m/232-3 to keep hopes alive of donning the conference crown.

The senior found himself in second place up until the fifth round, when he let the metal ball sail 72.69m/238-6 to snatch a lead he would not relinquish.

Robinson-O’Hagan’s march to becoming the first four-time hammer champ in SEC history began with a stunning shot across the bow as a freshman in 2023, and his reign of dominance has ruled ever since. In his career, Robinson-O’Hagan’s average margin of victory in the SEC hammer final is 9-foot-2, including two wins over his own teammates – one of which was a monster 23-foot-8 victory in 2025.

Thursday’s win also ties Robinson-O’Hagan for the all-time SEC men’s record in individual titles across all sports with Auburn’s Harvey Glance, who won 12 titles as a sprinter and jumper with the Tigers from 1976-79. Robinson-O’Hagan will now look to vie for his third consecutive outdoor shot put win for the overall men’s record and a tie of the overall record across men’s and women’s competition.
