A Mississippi police chase involving a motorcyclist that spanned more than 30 miles and reached triple-digit speeds ended in an arrest Monday.

The Capitol Police Department in Jackson said officers attempted to stop a speeding motorcycle on an undisclosed portion of Ridgewood Road around 5:40 a.m. The driver – later identified as 33-year-old Kyle King – fled from officers.

“The motorcycle fled from officers, leading them through multiple roadways and onto Interstate 55 South at speeds exceeding 140 mph,” said a release from the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, which houses the Capitol Police Department.

King was followed until he reached Ruby Road in Crystal Springs, where the Copiah County Sheriff’s Office assisted in stopping and arresting him.

He is charged with felony fleeing and possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia. He also had warrants from surrounding jurisdictions, according to the Capitol Police Department.
