The road to Omaha has officially begun, and of course, Mississippi is at the epicenter of the college baseball scene. This year’s NCAA Tournament features two Mississippi clubs hosting regionals, while the other’s postseason journey will begin in another team’s stadium.
In Hattiesburg, Southern Miss (44-15) drew the No. 9 overall seed, with the Golden Eagles’ regional being paired with No. 8 national seed Florida’s. Joining Christian Ostrander’s Sun Belt champions in the Hattiesburg regional are Virginia as the two-seed, Jacksonville State as the three-seed, and Little Rock as the four-seed.
