A man accused of assaulting an employee at the Taco Bell in Madison on Sunday has been arrested.
According to the Madison Police Department, John Michael Beall, 43, entered the restaurant on West Main Street around 2:30 p.m. to pick up a delivery order. When the order was not yet ready, Beall allegedly became agitate, damaged a cash register, and threw it at an employee.
Police said Beall then attempted to leave the scene, exiting the restaurant and getting into his vehicles before officers arrived. Responding officers met him in the parking lot and were able to take him into custody without further incident.
Beall was charged with misdemeanor malicious mischief and simple assault by threat was released on bond. The case is expected to be heard in Madison Municipal Court.
