A familiar face will be among the field of golfers competing in one of the sport’s biggest stages.
Former Ole Miss great Jackson Suber on Monday qualified to compete in the 2026 U.S. Open.
Playing at a qualifier at the Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Md., Suber claimed first place and earned one of the four qualifying spots at his event, landing him in the U.S. Open for the second time in his career. He previously competed in 2024.
Suber competed at Ole Miss from 2018-22, and is one of the most decorated golfers of the Chris Malloy era in Oxford. The Tampa Fla., native was an All-SEC and All-American honoree in his senior campaign.
The 126th U.S. Open will begin on June 18 at the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southhampton, N.Y. Suber enters the major championship on a hot streak, recently earning his first top-five finish of his career at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, where he earned fourth place.
