A sixth suspect has been arrested in the shooting death of former Ole Miss and Jackson State football player D.D. Bowie.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday it arrested Kristen O’Brian Ragsdale, 19, on Wednesday and charged him with hindering prosecution. His bond was set at $75,000, and he has yet to plea.

Ragsdale joins five others charged in connection with the case: Ladarious Harrison, 18 (charged with murder); Dominic Sanabria, 19 (murder); Semiko Crump, 46 (accessory after the fact); Kaylee Trimble, 18 (accessory after the fact); and Michael Jerome Mitchell, 19 (accessory after the fact).

All five of the suspects previously arrested have entered into not guilty pleas.

Court records show Sanabria and Harrison got into an argument with Bowie, leading to the shooting in the 100 block of Adams Road in the northern part of Rankin County on June 5.

Rankin County deputies responded to a report of a disturbance that escalated into gunfire in the area just after 6 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a 27-year-old man – later identified as Idarrious “D.D.” Iantron Bowie – suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies also recovered a firearm at the scene.

Bowie was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Bowie was one of the top Mississippi prospects in the class of 2016 out of Morton High School, earning a 4-star ranking from multiple outlets and a U.S. Army All-American nod. He played in nine games at defensive back as a freshman at Ole Miss before transferring to Jackson State, playing as a wide receiver during the 2019 season. He had 35 receptions for 512 yards and five touchdowns with the Tigers.
