The Biloxi Police Department has issued reminders to both citizens and visitors ahead of this weekend’s edition of Scrapin’ the Coast.

The South’s largest car, truck, and bike show begins Friday and runs through Sunday. Especially since it’s a car show, heavy traffic and congestion are expected throughout the weekend.

BPD encouraged drivers to plan accordingly and be patient while on the roads. They advised both visitors and residents to drive carefully to limit any sort of wrecks on U.S. Highway 90 or Beach Boulevard.

Scrapin’ the Coast 2026 will be only the second since Mississippi’s law against squatted vehicles took effect in 2024. Officials warn against visitors whose vehicles have the front fender raised four or more inches above the rear fender. According to BPD, violators will be cited accordingly. In the past, BPD reported issuing 517 tickets in 2024 and 406 in the 2025 edition of the event.

Also emphasized by the BPD is the need to be aware of all parking regulations for the event and to follow them accordingly. Vehicles must be parked in the designated areas during authorized hours; if not, citations and towing will be enforced for residents and visitors who fail to comply.

In addition, no pop-up events or vendors are authorized within the City of Biloxi during the weekend. Law enforcement officials will take action if unauthorized gatherings occur.
