One suspect has been arrested after a person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting Monday night in Gulfport.
According to the Gulfport Police Department, officers responded at approximately 8:45 p.m. to the 2000 block of 32nd Avenue after receiving a report of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found one person dead and two others suffering from gunshot wounds.
The injured victims were transported to a local hospital, where they remain in critical condition. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Harrison County Coroner’s Office.
Investigators determined the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute over narcotics involving 34-year-old John Gaddis III and one of the victims.
Gaddis was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault. He was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held on a $2 million bond.
