A fourth arrest has been made in connection with a triple homicide in Jackson that claimed the lives of two sisters and a toddler.
The Jackson Police Department announced Thursday that Devone Modacure was taken into custody across state lines in Forney, Texas. Modacrue was arrested by agents with the U.S. Marshals Service and officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety and is awaiting extradition to Jackson for his initial court appearance.

Modacure is the fourth person arrested in connection with the June 27 shooting inside a home in the 300 block of Queen Alexandria Lane. Cornelius Carter and Jordan Carter, both 28 but unrelated, were each charged with capital murder. Cornelius is also facing a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Mikala Young, 25, has also been charged with capital murder.
The victims were Keyana Weathersby. 25, her sister Erica Weathersby, 30, and Keyana’s 2-year-old son, Camari Givens. Police believe the shooting was targeted, potentially robbery.
The investigation remains active. In response to the case and a surge in gun violence during June, the Jackson Police Department is rolling out a five-week Quick Response Team that will include additional officers and a focus on crime-heavy areas.
