A Gulfport woman was arrested and charged with six counts of aggravated assault, police announced Tuesday.
The Gulfport Police Department responded to a drive-by shooting call on Monday. Upon arrival, officers witnessed a physical altercation between Leona Ireyannia Boykin, 21, and another woman around 8 p.m. near the Emerald Pines Apartments.
Once police detained the two women, officers began their investigation, during which they discovered that Boykin had allegedly discharged a firearm multiple times into a group of people. Officers found shell casings at the scene and bullet holes in an apartment.
No injuries were reported from the incident.
Boykin was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where she is being held on a $600,000 bond. The investigation remains active.
