One person was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Tupelo on Wednesday.
According to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, officers were responding to a domestic violence call in the area of Ruffwood Drive. When they arrived, a subject displayed a weapon toward them. Officers discharged their weapons, striking the subject, who was transported to a nearby hospital
The unidentified subject succumbed to their injuries.
No law enforcement officers received serious physical injuries.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has taken over the case and will turn over all findings to the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office.
