Beverage packaging company SIP Manufacturing is looking to create 187 new jobs in DeSoto County with an investment of more than $100 million.
The Mississippi Development Authority announced Wednesday that the canning and bottling business is setting up shop in Southaven. According to the company, SIP Manufacturing is a contract beverage manufacturer and co-packer that supports customers from product development through shipment.
The company boasts that it specializes in aluminum canning, PET bottle and aluminum bottle packaging, and produces a variety of beverages, including flavored waters, energy drinks, and hard seltzers.
In Southaven, SIP Manufacturing is taking over an existing building, where it will produce, package and ship finished products to distribution centers and customers. Company officials say the north Mississippi facility is designed to support a variety of beverage manufacturing and packaging needs and will allow for the production of multiple beverage types while serving customers across a range of market segments.
“Our expansion into Southaven represents an exciting new chapter for SIP Manufacturing 2.0, LLC,” SIP Manufacturing CEO Chas Aday said. “This facility allows us to better serve our customers, expand our capabilities, and continue investing in the people and partnerships that have fueled our growth. We’re grateful for the warm welcome from the State of Mississippi, the City of Southaven and DeSoto County, and we look forward to becoming a long-term member of this community.”
The Mississippi Development Authority is assisting the project financially through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive program. The city of Southaven and DeSoto County are also supporting the project.
