Tupelo Walmart employee accused of embezzling more than $11,000

A Tupelo Walmart worker is behind bars for allegedly embezzling thousands of dollars.

The Tupelo Police Department said officers responded to the Walmart Neighborhood Market at 316 S. Gloster St. on July 15 regarding an employee who allegedly embezzled more than $11,000.

Following its investigation, Tupelo PD announced Thursday that Alle Whitaker was taken into custody. The 32-year-old from nearby Mantachie was charged with felony embezzlement.

A municipal court judge set Whitaker’s bond at $4,000 before the charge is presented to a grand jury.

No further information about the case was immediately available.
