Authorities have identified the man who passed away at a Wiggins water park this week.
The Stone County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Christopher Coote Jr, 41, died at Flint Creek Water Park on Tuesday. Officials have preliminarily ruled his death an accidental drowning.
First responders were dispatched to the scene around 5:27 p.m. on Tuesday. A search and rescue effort spearheaded by Wiggins firefighters resulted in Coote’s body being recovered. Coote was reportedly already deceased when first responders recovered his body.
Wiggins police are investigating this case. No foul play is suspected at this time.
