The Mississippi State football team has lost some of its offensive line depth, with tackle Mario Nash Jr. no longer being part of the program.

Nash, a native of De Kalb and former four star prospect out of Kemper County High School, has been removed from the Mississippi State football roster and website. Officials did not announce a reason for his departure. SuperTalk Mississippi News has confirmed with sources close to the scene that he was not expected to start on the offensive line this season.

The offensive tackle, who was part of the 2025 recruiting class, committed to Mississippi State before flipping to Florida State, where he spent his first season. Nash redshirted in his inaugural college campaign and entered the transfer portal after the year wrapped up. He signed with Jeff Lebby and the Bulldogs and was part of a portal class that gave Mississippi State coaches and fans optimism that the team would be more competitive in the SEC.

Mississippi State is projected to start three newcomers on the offensive line this year, though Nash was not in the mix to be among those taking primary or even secondary snaps. As for Nash’s plans, the football player has not gone public about his future in the sport.

The Bulldogs will continue preseason camp as they prepare for the Sept. 5 home opener versus Louisiana-Monroe.
