The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a pair of fatal crashes over the Labor Day enforcement period.
According to MHP, the holiday enforcement period ran from Friday, Sept. 4, through Monday, Sept. 7. Troopers investigated 136 crashes and assisted 88 motorists. Officials reported that deadly wrecks occurred in Winston and Hancock counties over the weekend.
The Winston County crash occurred Saturday and resulted in a man identified as Brandon Taylor, 29, dying after his vehicle struck a tree.
The Hancock County crash occurred Sunday and resulted in a woman identified as Hope Dabrovolskis, 23, dying after her car collided with another vehicle.
Both victims are Mississippi natives. The two crashes remain under investigation.
