Authorities have found and captured an escaped parolee.
The Mississippi Department of Corrections and local law enforcement took 38-year-old Branden Young into custody after he reportedly escaped from the Madison County Work Center Sunday morning. Officials have not yet said how he escaped.
According to authorities, Young is on parole for felony DUI. Officials added that he was assigned to the technical violation center in Madison County earlier in September for violating his parole terms.
Around 8 a.m. on Monday, a Capitol Police officer spotted Young at a gas station in a black Nissan Titan. Officers then attempted a traffic stop before Young fled from the gas station at high speed and collided with a fence, allowing officers to take him into custody.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi Department of Corrections were notified and then responded to retrieve Young. The escaped parolee will now face an escape charge after being captured on Monday.
