The company is on a mission to build 300 stores in the next decade, with the Tupelo site fitting into that campaign. Other Target locations in Mississippi can be found in D’Iberville, Flowood, Hattiesburg, Horn Lake, Jackson, and Olive Branch.
Tupelo shoppers, the wait is almost over – Target is opening later this month.
After a multi-year process dating back to 2023, when store representatives came to Tupelo to scout a possible location, and 4,200 trucks of dirt later, the Target near North Gloster Street will open to the public on Oct. 11. The store at 1130 Woodford Way will create nearly 200 jobs.
“Our continued commitment to opening new stores is really about showing up for our guests and our communities — and it starts with our incredible store team members,” Target Chief Stores Officer Adrienne Costanzo said. “These new stores give our teams the tools and environments to bring our merchandising strengths to life, create easier and more inspiring shopping experiences, and use technology to move smarter and faster every day. It’s how we keep growing thoughtfully, stay connected to our communities, and make Target an even better place to work and shop.”
The Target superstore in Tupelo will provide more convenient access to everyday essentials, groceries, and other fulfillment needs. The 148,000-square-foot store will be the largest in Mississippi and offer drive-up, order pickup, and same-day delivery, giving Tupelo residents several convenient ways to shop.
Additionally, the Tupelo Target will feature a Starbucks Café and a CVS Pharmacy inside, along with standard Target offerings like electric vehicle charging stations and areas to buy adult beverages. It will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
