Just hours remain to register to vote in the Nov. 3 federal midterm elections in Mississippi.
Monday, Oct. 5, is the final day to register or update registration information before all four of the state’s U.S. House seats and one of its two U.S. Senate seats will be decided. Voters will also decide a number of judicial races, along with several special local elections.
There are a couple ways to register to vote or update voter registration information: by mail or in person.
Mississippi voters’ guide: What to know before November’s midterms
Mississippians can print this form, fill it out, and mail it to their county circuit clerk’s office. Forms are also available at public libraries and public schools. At this point in the election cycle, mailed applications must be postmarked by Oct. 5.
For those who prefer to register in person, county circuit clerk offices and driver’s license exam stations across the state offer that option.
For voters who are already registered and eligible to vote absentee, in-person and mail-in absentee ballots are now available at circuit clerks’ offices. Absentee voting began Sept. 19.
Polls statewide will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters must bring an acceptable form of photo identification, such as a driver’s license or passport, to their polling location.
