The Pascagoula River Bridge on Highway 26 in George County is closed to all traffic until further notice following a crash that caused structural damage to the bridge.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the crash happened early Tuesday morning on the bridge between Highway 57 and Highway 63. It involved two passenger vehicles and an 18-wheeler.
One person was killed in the crash, and several others were injured.
The bridge will remain closed while engineers with the Mississippi Department of Transportation inspect the structure and determine when it is safe to reopen.
