Baseball fans along the Mississippi Gulf Coast will miss out on seeing one local team in action.
With expected inclement weather on the horizon, the Oct. 10 showdown between Mississippi State and Southern Miss at Keesler Federal Park has been canceled.
While that game won’t happen, Bulldog fans will still get to see Brian O’Conner’s club in action, as the Oct. 9 matchup between Mississippi State and Auburn will still go on, but on a different date.
The Hancock Whitney Classic contest between the Bulldogs and Tigers will now happen on Oct. 8. First pitch is set for 6 p.m., and gates will open at 5 p.m.
Those who already purchased tickets for either game can redeem them on Thursday. For those who purchased tickets to both games, officials say to call the Biloxi Shuckers box office at (228) 233-3465 or email tickets@biloxishuckers.com.
