It’s looking like Hurricane Isaias will follow the Ole Miss football team to Nashville this weekend.

According to the latest National Weather Service forecast, Music City is expected to be quite nasty on Saturday while the Rebels and Commodores play.

By the time the game kicks off at 2:30 p.m. CT, forecasters predict it will have been raining in the area for the majority of the day. Thunderstorms and winds between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph, cannot be ruled out during the matchup. Kickoff time had not been altered as of early Friday afternoon.

“I’m a little bit more worried about Ole Miss and Vandy in Nashville on Saturday because all of that is coming up from Alabama,” expert meteorologist Jim Cantore said on The Pat McAfee Show. “All of that is coming north.”

Ole Miss (3-1, 1-1 SEC) is currently a 9.5-point favorite over Vanderbilt (3-2, 0-2 SEC). The over/under for the game is 57.5 total points scored. The Rebels are coming off a bye week after a 52-28 loss at Florida. The Commodores are coming off a 38-14 loss at Georgia. Both teams will look to get right on Saturday, but will likely have to weather a literal storm to earn a victory. Ole Miss and Vanderbilt last faced off in 2023. The Rebels won that matchup 33-7.

On the hurricane front, Isaias strengthened into a Category 3 storm on Friday morning, as it barrels toward the U.S. Gulf Coast. The major hurricane is forecast to make landfall late Friday somewhere along the Alabama-Florida line and create dangerous conditions in the Florida Panhandle, southern Alabama, and southern Mississippi.
