Popular American luxury athletic apparel and lifestyle clothing company ALO is setting up shop in DeSoto County with a $176 million investment.
The company announced Monday that it is locating a new national fulfillment and distribution center in Southaven. The project is expected to create more than 400 new jobs. ALO plans to move into an existing building and occupy up to 1.2 million square feet, with the option to add returns processing operations at the facility.
“One of the things Mississippi does exceptionally well is logistics, so this investment makes a lot of sense for our state and the company. ALO could’ve picked anywhere to locate its national fulfillment center, and it chose DeSoto County,” Gov. Tate Reeves said.
“This project brings nearly $176 million in new investment and more than 400 jobs to the area, both of which create new opportunities for Mississippi families and contribute to the region’s thriving economy,” Reeves continued. “We’re proud to welcome ALO to Mississippi and look forward to the company’s success here.”
As is the case with many major economic development projects in the state, the Mississippi Development Authority is assisting financially through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive program. DeSoto County and the city of Southaven are also chipping in.
ALO expects to begin operations and fill the new jobs by 2027, the company confirmed.
